Mickleover Sports v New Mills Fa Trophy 2nd Q 15/11/14 (you.re not alone )

Alright gang this should bring us up to date a return some 5 years later to the Mickleover sports stadium or should i say the now sponsored Raygar Stadium . yeah last time i think sports hosted Lincoln Utd in the Evo Stik South. Ive also seen sports this season when ticking off Tividale they ran out  impressive 3 -1 winners that day and i remember having a good chat with their press officer Phil Matthews before the kick off , I bet he didnt expect to see me again this quick although he is aware of my mission /exploits in the fa cups. Anyway ive got company today Calvins back and rejuvenated and hes in for the long haul so it was a trip to Buckshaw Parkway to meet him for the journey to Derby . Along the way Calvin decided to attempt to do a book on this Trophy cup run he said itd be a triology with us attempting the Fa Vase next season ,events were to make it impossible not to do a book so read on .we Arrived at the Raygar well in time just after 1 oclock paid in and had a drink in the sports club which impressed Calvin as it doubles as the cricket club ( bloody Cricket again ) actually the ground is not to dissimilar to Stourbridge or Stocksbridge with a boundary fence seperating the 2 codes . we had a walk around the ground and got my customary photos and headed for the tea bar Calvin noticed in the programme we had a Lady Referee Lisa Rashid thats a first for us both he also noticed a blast from our past FA Cup Journey Mr Matt Landregan who played and scored Against Burscough for Radcliffe Borough.I told him the Danny Caldecott connection aswell . Wed just been served at the tea bar when Phil Matthews popped up he shook our hands and said ^how have you got here Trains , Planes ,automobiles ? ” they know me too well this lot now one day im gonna fly in in a Helicopter thatll stun em ;  ). We had a chat about New Mills and he expected a good game . Id highlighted a couple of New Mills players to Calvin Porya Ahmadi being one of them and how the Millers start like an Express Train and on the front foot from the off. And with the game only about 2 mins old New Mills were one up Ahmadi with an assured finish . ( i love being right ) Mickleover had quite a height advantage but to their credit theyre not route one and like to play football. They pressured New Mills on several occasions but never really hurt em ,with 10 mins left of the 1st half brilliantly reffed by Miss Rashid by the way, we noticed a distinct drop in temperature and by our half time walk to the tea bar there was quite a bit of Mist forming Calvin was going to utter a thought and i interupted dont say it . As the 2nd Half kicked off 5 mins late it was quite foggy and the 2 guys who turned out to be an ex management duo at Coalville Town were dubious as to wather they game should continue, it was quite bad cos we couldnt recognise or see who scored Sports equaliser from our spot near the Halfway Line . It was getting worse and on 66 mins Miss Rashid called a halt on proceedings . She said to the Non League Paper even though both goals were visible from the touchlines the assistant Referees could make or see a decision so she had no alternative too Abandon it. So there You have it if you include the fa cup run weve gone 16 ties without a replay but weve surpassed that with an abandonement as Carla a friend of mine commented on social media ” is this a new type of Jynx * So Wrer back Tuesday the 18th and im up to date cos the draw for the 3rd qualifiers been made and the winners will be away at North Ferriby United . Ive Been There Lol ;  )
